A Pirates Lounge? At Magic Kingdom? Yes, please!
Ahoy there, me hearties!
Grab your calendars (and maybe your favourite mickey ears), because something very exciting is setting sail at Walt Disney World’s Magic Kingdom. Yep, it’s true — The Beak and Barrel, the brand-new Pirates of the Caribbean–themed tavern, is officially opening its doors on August 29, 2025! And honestly? I’m already dreaming of toasting with a Plunderer’s Punch under flickering lantern light.
This isn't just any new lounge — it’s the first dedicated in-park bar at Magic Kingdom that isn’t part of a full-service restaurant. It’s nestled right in Adventureland, just a parrot’s squawk from the classic Pirates of the Caribbean ride.
I don’t know about you, but the idea of sipping a themed cocktail while surrounded by shipwrecked treasures and pirate lore? Absolute perfection.
So what do we know about it so far
Beak and Barrel will feature two unique rooms:
The Mess – a rustic, shipwrecked bar with communal tables and a very "yo-ho" vibe
The Captain’s Quarters – a more refined space filled with nautical maps, mysterious artifacts, and piratey treasures
You’ll get 45 minutes to soak in the atmosphere (and maybe down a second drink) but there is a two-drink max per adult. One thing to remember, this is a lounge, so expect small plates and a casual piratey vibe.
Disney is introducing us to some new characters in this story: Captain Meridian “Merry” Goldwyn and her trusty parrot sidekick, Rummy. I’m already obsessed.
The menu promises a mix of non-alcoholic treasures and spirited potions (for the 21+ crew). While we haven’t tasted them yet, names like Cursed Treasure and Salty Seas mARRRgarita are enough to make me want to raise my glass already.
There’s even a Plunderer’s Punch served in a souvenir skull mug. You know that’s going straight to the top of my wish list.
So Set your alarms, because I have a feeling the first reservations will go faster than a pirate spotting gold doubloons.
I love that Disney is continuing to lean into immersive, story-rich dining experiences — and as someone who lives for both Adventureland vibes and a good themed drink, I couldn’t be more excited.
So… will you be trying to snag a reservation? I know we’ll be on the app first as soon as our booking window opens for our next trip, ready to book our spot.
Let me know what drink, snack, or detail you’re most excited about! Or better yet — which pirate name are you picking for your reservation? I’m thinking… “Captain Sassy Sparrow.”
Yo-ho and cheers, friends — a new Disney adventure awaits!
